Tenuta San Leonardo is a skillful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Merlot, vinified and aged separately. Before bottling, the blend is made, and the exact proportions are decided only after a rigorous barrique-by-barrique tasting. Harvest takes place when the wine is perfectly ripe during the months of September and October. It spends the first few months of maturation in concrete vats, followed by 18-24 months in first-, second-, and third-use barriques. It then ages in bottle for at least 18 months before being released for sale.
