Terre di San Leonardo Tenuta di San Leonardo is a classic Bordeaux blend that follows in the footsteps of its ''big brother,'' the very famous San Leonardo. The grapes are harvested when perfectly ripe during the month of October. Destemming and soft pressing of the grapes, with low sulfur dioxide content, are followed by long fermentation and maceration of the pomace with repeated daily punching down. The must is cold-settled by natural decantation. 80% of the wine is aged for 18 months in large 60-hl Slavonian oak barrels and 20% in barriques for at least 6 months. It is then bottled for at least 6 months before being released for sale.
