Antinori's Primitivo Tormaresca 'Torcicoda' is a Primitivo associated with both the rustic, rural landscapes where it grows and the fertility and wealth it represented for local families, so much so that in recent times it was even brought as a dowry by young brides. 'Torcicoda' therefore recalls, on the one hand, one of the tools used by farmers to tend their horses, and on the other, the sinuous and lush nature of the shoots and leaves of this grape variety, also known as 'of the three harvests' for its fertility.

Antinori's Primitivo Tormaresca 'Torcicoda' is produced exclusively from the grapes of the same name, harvested slightly overripe. After pressing, maceration, managed with gentle pumping over and delestage, lasts approximately 13 days in stainless steel tanks. During this phase, the wine completes alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature no higher than 27°C (80°F). It is then transferred to French and Hungarian oak barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place. Torcicoda ages approximately 10 months in barrels and an additional 6 months in bottle before being released.
