The Chianti Classico 'Marchese Antonori' Riserva Antinori is produced on the Tignanello Estate, located in the heart of Chianti Classico, on the rolling hills between the Greve and Pesa valleys. The estate extends across 319 hectares, with approximately 130 hectares planted to vines on soils derived from Pliocene marine marlstone mixed with limestone and schist. The grapes enjoy warm days and cool nights during the growing season. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed; the must is transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place, lasting approximately a week. Maceration is managed with very gentle pumping over and délestage to ensure intense extraction while preserving the elegance and sweetness of the tannins. After malolactic fermentation, which occurs spontaneously by the end of the year, the blended wine continues to age in French and Hungarian oak barrels for approximately a year. Marchese Antinori is then bottled and refined in bottle for an additional 12 months.
