Casale Del Giglio Shiraz is produced exclusively from Shiraz (or Syrah) grapes, a grape of oriental origin originating in ancient Persia. It has established itself in France, primarily in the Rhone Valley, where it contributes, along with other varietals, to the production of famous wines such as Hermitage and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Since the beginning of the last century, this grape has spread to parts of Australia, such as the Hunter River Valley near Sydney. Thanks to the ''Casale del Giglio'' project, it was first introduced to the province of Latina in 1985. Ruby red in color with purple hues, it has an intense, persistent aroma with fruity notes of blackcurrant, blueberry, and morello cherry, along with cardamom and cinnamon. The palate is smooth and warm, with good tannins and a return of spicy notes of black pepper on the finish.
