Fumin Les Cretes is produced from the eponymous grape variety. Vinified in stainless steel with long maceration and aged in wood for 9-12 months. The name Fumin derives from the smoky gray color of its grapes, rich in bloom. An ancestral variety of the Aosta Valley, it has no relatives in other production areas. Traditionally used in blends with other varieties, it is now vinified as a single varietal in the Valle d'Aosta DOC. Les Cretes was the first Aosta Valley winery to produce it in the 1993 DOC.
