Pignatello Barraco 2018

It was born from the desire to revive a nearly extinct grape variety, Pignatello (or Perricone). The challenge was to bottle it as a single-varietal version.

How to taste it

Visual tasting
Clear, ruby red in color with a garnet edge. Consistent.
Olfactory tasting
Notes of small black fruits, sweet black spices and a savory/iodine note that makes for a pleasant and inviting drink.
Taste tasting
Firm but very elegant tannins, supported by a beautiful acidity.
What to pair wine with Pignatello Barraco 2018
It pairs well with venison with blueberries, lamb pie, octopus stew, and zarzuela.

It is produced exclusively with Pignatello (or Perricone) grapes, a nearly extinct native grape variety. It is grown on medium-textured soils with limestone and clay located at 120 meters above sea level. It is vinified on the skins with fermentation in stainless steel and 30 days of maceration on the skins. It ages in stainless steel from October to June and then in bottle for 18 months.
