The Tenuta Guado al Tasso Antinori Scalabrone Rosato is composed of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a portion of Syrah for a rosé with bold and intense aromas, characteristic of the Bolgheri region. The vineyard, like the wine, takes its name from the bandit 'Scalabrone' who lived in this area in the early 19th century and is situated on silty-clay soils of predominantly alluvial origin, rich in pebbles. The three varietals—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah—are harvested and vinified separately. The grapes are destemmed, delicately crushed, and transferred to the press where they undergo a brief maceration of approximately 2-4 hours at a low temperature to enhance the richness of the aromatic precursors. After pressing, the must reaches stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 16°C. The different lots are carefully and regularly assessed and blended.
