Riesling Vajra 'Petracine' 2023

Vajra's 'Pétracine' Riesling is made from the oldest Riesling vines ever planted in Piedmont, in 1985. The vineyards have an east/southeast exposure at 420-480 meters above sea level. Its name comes from an ancient synonym for Riesling, meaning 'roots in stone,' indicating that it could grow well in rocky soils. Vajra was the pioneer of Riesling in Piedmont, an idea born in the late 1970s and brought to fruition in 1985. The history of Riesling reflects his passion and curiosity.

The Vajra Riesling 'Pétracine' is a wine that reflects Vajra's pioneering spirit. The Riesling harvest takes place in the first half of September and continues for about two to three weeks. It then ages in stainless steel until the spring following harvest.
