Riesling Dr Loosen 'Urziger Wurzgarten' Spatlese 2022

Dr. Loosen's Mosel Spatlese Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling is a particularly aromatically intense version of Riesling. According to the German classification, the term Spatlese is used for wines produced with late-harvest grapes, which have accumulated more sugars and concentrated aromas. It is an interpretation that reflects the ripeness of the fruit and the mellow smoothness of the flavor, accentuated by the presence of significant residual sugar, well balanced by Riesling's typical mineral freshness, making it a dynamic and satisfying wine.

Dr. Loosen's Mosel Spatlese Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling comes from the vineyard of the same name, characterized by red volcanic soil, located in a splendid amphitheater in a bend of the river. This parcel grows the estate's oldest vines, still ungrafted, which produce exceptionally rich grapes. Fermentation takes place partly in steel tanks and partly in barrels, and the wine ages for several months before bottling.
