The FALLWIND San Michele Appiano Riesling is produced from the eponymous grape of Germanic origin, which has found an ideal terroir in Alto Adige. Riesling requires specific environmental conditions and prefers a cool but sunny climate. These conditions are present in the Monticolo area, where the fertile soils give the wine its special character. The vines range in age from 5 to 20 years, with south-southeast exposure on gravelly and moraine soils. Harvest begins in October, with the grapes being picked and selected by hand. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks and then the wine ages on the lees for 5 months. The Monticolo Riesling is distinguished by its fruity aromas and mineral freshness, making it an increasingly popular wine.
