The Girlan winery was founded in 1923 by 23 winemakers in the village of Girlan/Cornaiano in Alto Adige, on a historic 16th-century farmstead. Girlan's Moscato Rosa 'Pasithea' is grown in Cornaiano, on the Oltradige hills, at an altitude of 450-500 meters above sea level in well-ventilated vineyards. The soil is rich in minerals formed by glacial sediments, and the vineyards extend over a slightly hilly area near the Monticolo Lakes. The aroma is composed of scents of roses, ripe wild strawberries, cranberries, and a spicy hint of cinnamon. The flavor is smooth with soft tannins, a sweet fullness on the palate, and a persistent finish. A very light and unobtrusive passito, never cloying. Best served at 12-14 degrees Celsius.
