Grechetto Passito Mottura 'Muffo' 2022

Mottura's Grechetto Passito ''Muffo'' is produced exclusively with Grechetto grapes from the ''Umbrico'' and ''Mecone'' vineyards. The relatively low-lying location of the two vineyards allows them to be easily reached by the mists that rise from the surface of Lake Alviano (formed by a dam on the Tiber) on autumn mornings. This mist favors the growth of noble rot, which gives the wine its distinctive character. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels for approximately twelve months. Given the specific weather conditions required for its production, not all harvests are suitable for producing Muffo.
