Etna Rosso 'Koinè' Riserva Antichi Vinai is made from grapes grown on the sandy, volcanic soils on the slopes of Etna. These challenging soils, with a very low yield, create a highly concentrated blend of flavor and personality. The grapes are hand-picked when they are late-ripening, maximizing structure and alcohol content. It is vinified with soft pressing and maceration on the skins, then aged in small oak barrels and in bottle for at least a year. Its aroma is varied and complex, with nuances ranging from red fruits to toasted almonds and cocoa; the flavor is warm, intense, and remarkably persistent.
