Cotarella's 'Ogra' Syrah is the result of years of experience growing Syrah grapes in the estate's vineyards, including those in the municipality of Castiglione in Teverina. The unique climate and soil composition have allowed for the production of this wine, resulting in very ripe grapes with rich phenolic content. The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in plastic crates. The healthiest and ripest berries are then manually selected. After pressing, they undergo an initial cold maceration phase. The temperature is then raised and maceration continues for three days after the end of alcoholic fermentation. The wine is then transferred to French oak barrels where it ages for 18 months.
