Messorio Le Macchiole is made with 100% Merlot grapes grown in the Vignone vineyards since 1999 and Puntone since 1994, trained using the double spurred cordon and simple Guyot systems. It is vinified as a red wine with fermentation and maceration for 25 days in concrete vats. It ages for 18 months in new barriques.

Messorio Le Macchiole was created in 1994. Messorio is a personal challenge with one of the most widespread varieties in the Bolgheri area, on the Tuscan coast, and around the world: Merlot. The idea, from the very beginning, was to transform the finest grapes into a wine of great impact and personality, distancing itself as much as possible from the stereotype of docile and predictable, but instead creating a thoroughbred that never gives up its spirits. The name harks back to the harvest and harvest season, a crucial step in every agricultural activity.
