Etna Rosso Passorosso Passopisciaro 2023
Prompt delivery if you order before 14:30,
Passorosso Passopisciaro is a blend of heirloom Nerello Mascalese grapes from several vineyards located at different altitudes on the northern slopes of Etna. Generally, the higher Contrade vineyards lie on gravelly, coarser soils, while the lower ones on finer, deeper soils composed of older lava flows, now oxidized and reduced to lava dust. This wine concentrates the characteristics of different terroirs in a single bottle, offering a comprehensive understanding of the region. It is vinified in steel tanks for 15 days, and malolactic fermentation takes place in large wooden barrels, where it then ages for at least 18 months before being bottled and released for sale.

This wine concentrates the characteristics of different terroirs in a single bottle to offer a comprehensive understanding of the region. With age, it tends to lose color and develop aromas of camphor, sandalwood, and spices. The first vintage was produced in 2001. With the 2014 vintage, Passorosso also became an Etna Rosso DOC.
