Antinori Guado al Tasso was first produced in 1990. It takes its name from a curious fact: at the Guado al Tasso estate, badgers, very shy animals, are often seen crossing the fords of the rivers, hence the name. The Guado al Tasso estate is located approximately 80 km southwest of Florence, near the medieval village of Bolgheri in the Upper Maremma region. The 1,000-hectare estate extends from the Tyrrhenian coast to the hills where the vineyards are cultivated on rocky, slightly calcareous soils.
