What to pair wine with Vernaccia Di Oristano Contini 2021
Contini's Vernaccia di Oristano is an exquisite dessert wine and a perfect meditation wine. Served chilled, it makes an excellent aperitif. It pairs well with some Sardinian desserts and pairs particularly well with the traditional mullet bottarga.
Contains sulfites.
Contini Vernaccia di Oristano is produced in the Lower Tirso Valley, an area characterized by a Mediterranean climate, limited rainfall, and very hot, breezy summers. The older vines are trained using bush vines and the younger ones using espaliers. Soft pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation lead the wine to a long aging period of approximately 10 years in small oak and chestnut barrels, traditionally kept empty to allow the development of the characteristic layer of yeast known as 'flor,' which is responsible for the unmistakable aromas of Vernaccia di Oristano.
