Paleo Rosso Le Macchiole is one of Bolgheri's icons. Not the usual Bordeaux blend, but 100% Cabernet Franc. This wine is made from a blend of different vineyards. After 20 days of maceration in concrete, it ages for 18 months, mostly in new barriques. A wine that delivers powerful emotions from the very first sip.

Paleo Rosso Le Macchiole was born in 1989. It is the wine that has evolved the most over time: born as a classic Bordeaux blend, it was transformed into a 100% Cabernet Franc in 2001. A beautiful story of perseverance and defiance of the stereotype of Cabernet Franc being difficult to produce, even more so as a pure Cabernet Franc. Paleo Rosso is today one of the symbols of Bolgheri, despite its absolute diversity and originality, and is one of the most famous Cabernet Francs in the world. The word Paleo comes from the common name for Festuca Pratensis (of the Gramineae family), a wild grass on the Tuscan coast.
