It takes its name from the location of the eponymous vineyard, which was the starting point for the winemaking project: focusing on Sangiovese, isolating the finest grapes from a particularly suitable soil. Thus was born a new wine, a great pure Sangiovese, destined to change the history of its growing district from its first vintage (2009). Madrechiesa is a wine that has resonated with many and changed the minds of many. Those who thought that great wines couldn't be made from this area, or that they would always lack elegance. Madrechiesa embodies the answer to these questions. With its refined, vibrant, and persuasive balance, it has redefined the Sangiovese of southern Tuscany, bringing Maremma back into the spotlight of critics and the market. It ages for 12 months in large barrels and 6 months in bottle.
