The Falerno del Massico Risso ''Vigna Camarato'' Villa Matilde is produced exclusively in the finest vintages with 80% Aglianico and 20% Piedirosso grapes harvested in the vineyard of the same name, one of the oldest and best exposed on the hillside estate of San Castrese at the foot of the extinct volcano of Roccamonfina. The bunches, hand-selected one by one, are delicately pressed, and the resulting must ferments with its pomace for 20–25 days at a temperature of around 25°C, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques. It is then aged in Allier oak barriques for 12–18 months (1/3 new, 1/3 second-use, 1/3 third-use) and remains in the bottle to mature for another 12–18 months.
