Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve is the result of a blend of several of the house's single malt whiskies: a whisky less than 10 years old and matured for 6 months in casks previously containing Bordeaux wine; a small percentage of whisky left to mature for more than twenty years; and a very young whisky aged in casks made of Mizunara, a type of Japanese oak.
