Scapa 16 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is produced in the Orkney Islands, at Scotland's second-northernmost distillery. Scapa does not use any malted barley from the island and uses only first-fill ex-bourbon casks. A simple, lightly peated whisky with bold sweet and floral notes—a unique feature for an island malt.

What to pair wine with Whisky Scapa 'Glansa'
Scapa 16 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is excellent drunk neat or on the rocks.
Scapa 16 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is produced at the second-northernmost distillery in Scotland, just half a mile from Highland Park, the only other distillery in the Orkney Islands. Located on the main island, on the shores of Scapa Flow (Scapa Bay) and near the town of Kirkwall, it has very ancient origins. It was founded in 1885 by MacFarlane & Townsend but underwent several changes of ownership and apparently closed permanently in 2004. Subsequently acquired by Pernod Ricard and placed into the hands of its subsidiary Chivas Brothers, it launched Scapa 'The Orcadian' 16 Year Old whisky. Scapa does not use malted barley from the island and uses only first-fill ex-bourbon casks. Essentially, it produces whisky in a very simple manner without any particular refinement. Currently, this expression is the only one present in the official core range. However, several independent bottlings exist, although not very numerous. Scapa malt has always been known for not being as peaty as other island malts, but rather possessing powerful sweet and floral notes. A unique characteristic for an island malt.
