Philipponat's Royale Reserve Champagne is made from a blend of 65% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and 5% Pinot Meunier. The grapes are primarily sourced from Grands and Premiers Crus located in the heart of Champagne. Twenty to 30% of the reserve wines are solera-aged and aged in wood to incorporate older wines without sacrificing freshness. Traditional vinification avoids premature oxidation. Partial malolactic fermentation and aging of the reserve wines in barrels allow the aromas to acquire greater complexity. Moderate brut dosage (8 g/l) maintains the balance between freshness, fruitiness, and vinosity, without masking the wine's character and purity. Aged on the lees in the House's cellars at a constant temperature of 12°C for three years, significantly longer than the legal minimum of fifteen months.
