The name literally means 'hill exposed to the wind,' and this, combined with the unique soil composition, produces this exceptional Brunello di Montalcino. The wine's dominant and elegant tannins require long, traditional aging in large oak barrels. After bottling, the wine ages for another three years before being released to the market. The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento is produced only in the finest vintages and represents one of the finest expressions of pure Sangiovese found in Montalcino.
