''A most select position,'' as described in 1880 by Lorenzo Fantini, author of the first monograph on viticulture in the province of Cuneo, was included by Renato Ratti among the ''First Category'' crus in the famous 1965 Map of Barolo, the basis of today's MGA (Additional Geographical Indications) classification, which designates this area as being of ''absolute prestige.''
