La Maison Taittinger nasce nel 1932 ad opera del suo omonimo fondatore, con una meravigliosa sede che sorge sulle rovine di un'antica abbazia a Reims. Sono circa 288 gli ettari vitati di proprietà, dislocati in 34 differenti Cru, mentre la produzione totale, grazie anche all'acquisto di uve, supera i 5000000 di bottiglie.
Affascinante particolare della maison è rappresentato dalle gallerie sotterranee suddivise in due livelli: al primo ricavate dalle cripte dei monaci (dove affina il prestigioso Comtes de Champagne), al secondo costituite dalle crayères, le antiche cave di gesso di epoca gallo-romana.
